I wake up every day with an image of him in my mind, and deep sorrow and grief in my heart. I’ve come to terms with the 29th. It’s going to end that day in mediation, one way or another, because he is dead set against having to go to court and face a judge. Doesn’t he realize running from accountability and judgment here doesn’t matter?
From the beginning, man could never hide from God, and He is the only Judge Who is fully informed of ALL the evidence. It doesn’t matter if he’s trying to avoid my lawyer calling witnesses to the stand, some testifying to his unfaithfulness while others discover his dishonesty and the secrets he’s been hiding for so long. God was actually the primary Eyewitness to his heart’s every thought and intent, and every subsequent evil act of deception and depravity. And He says, “For everything that is hidden will eventually be brought into the open, and every secret will be brought to light” (Mark 4:22; Luke 8:17). You can be sure your sins will find you out (Numbers 32:33). And you can be sure He will have His justice.*
My children’s heartbreak will also testify against him. This morning, my daughter was in such a happy mood until 5 minutes before leaving for school. All of a sudden, she didn’t want me next to her, and then she got upset when I walked away. When I asked her what’s wrong, her face crumpled, she buried her head on the bed, and cried, “Dadaaaa.” My heart then cried as well. I can shoulder my own heartbreak, but seeing what his sin is doing to the kids – it’s just not right, and it doesn’t go unnoticed by God. Just like Abel’s blood, their every tear, their every moment of pain, sadness, and confusion, cries out to Him and is collected… and He will repay (Psalm 56:8).
*I came across two great articles when searching for these Scripture references. This first one is a must-read: “Nothing Safe About Secret Sin” by John MacArthur. It links to other great articles as well:

The second is from The Pulpit Commentary, Be Sure Your Sin Will Find You Out, by E.S. Sprout. In short, he says, “These words, though ultimately true of every sin, are spoken of actions which, going forth from us, perform their mischievous errands, but will come home again, bringing retribution with them… We cannot escape from our sins by lapse of time, careful concealment, repentance, [or] death.”
